UConn freshman guard Stephon Fortress announces for 2024 NBA draft

UConn freshman Stephon Fortress has declared for the 2024 NBA Draft.

Fortress’s option makes him the 2nd “one-and-achieved” participant in program historical previous after Andre Drummond went ninth overall in the 2012.

The 19-three hundred and sixty five days-faded Fortress, a 6-foot-6 guard from Covington, Georgia, averaged 11.2 parts, 4.3 rebounds and 3 assists per sport for the Huskies at some level of the 2023-24 season. He turned up his sport when it mattered most, scoring 21 parts in their Final Four glean over Alabama and then 15 extra as UConn claimed a 2nd consecutive national title by beating Purdue.

Fortress, a five-considerable individual recruit and McDonald’s All American, modified into once the Big East’s Freshman of the Yr.

That is now three participants of the 2023-24 Huskies who’ve declared for the NBA Draft. Heart Donovan Clingan and ahead Alex Karaban have both announced their intentions to leave. In Karaban’s case, he’s affirming his college eligibility.
