It was up towards some stiff opponents, however the most recent film from Studio Ghibli has officially secured director Hayao Miyazaki his 2d Oscar. The 96th Academy Awards is for the time being airing, and the award for Simplest Bright Characteristic went to Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron.

The Boy and the Heron was up towards Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Nimona, Elemental and Robot Wishes.

Here’s the most recent in a string of wins for The Boy and the Heron, including awards from The British Academy of Movie and Tv Arts (BAFTA) and The International Bright Movie Society, besides being the important thing anime to uncover a Golden Globe award.

Miyazaki beforehand won an Oscar for Lively Away in 2003, and was later nominated for Howl’s Transferring Fortress and The Wind Rises.

After losing his mom all around the battle, young Mahito moves to his family’s estate within the countryside. There, a series of mysterious events lead him to a secluded and feeble tower, dwelling to a waggish grey heron. When Mahito’s recent stepmother disappears, he follows the grey heron into the tower, and enters an unheard of world shared by the living and the ineffective. As he embarks on an story hotfoot with the heron as his data, Mahito must say the secrets of this world, and the fact about himself. Featuring the voices of Christian Bale, Dave Bautista, Gemma Chan, Willem Dafoe, Karen Fukuhara, Tag Hamill, Robert Pattinson and Florence Pugh.
