In celebration of Mother’s Day on Sunday (Could 8), the Disney-owned cabler shared a 47-2nd trailer for the five-half documentary sequence Dear Mama, titled after Tupac’s 1995 hit tune. In the teaser, Afeni — who died in 2016 — recalls a surely fundamental lesson she taught her son at a surely younger age.
“It used to be my accountability to coach Tupac easy strategies to outlive his truth,” her speak booms, as a dim-and-white picture of her bottle-feeding a younger Tupac flash throughout the show shroud. “So, Tupac attain something inappropriate, bid your little sorry self in that corner, gather the Unusual York Times and let’s earn a debate about it. Not a dialogue, a debate. Let me hear what your opinion is, arise, protect it.”

The Allen Hughes-directed docuseries premieres this fall on FX, and begins streaming the following day on Hulu.
Dear Mama is “suggested thru the eyes of the of us who knew them ultimate,” per a recordsdata free up from FX. “An intimate broad-perspective portrait of the most intriguing and unhealthy mom-son duo in American history, whose unified message of freedom, equality, persecution and justice are extra relevant currently than ever.”
The documentary sequence used to be on the beginning announced in 2019 and titled Outlaw: The Saga of Afeni and Tupac Shakur.
