Waymo gets approval to deploy its robotaxi carrier in Los Angeles

The California Public Utilities Rate (CPUC) has given Waymo permission to delay its robotaxi operations to Los Angeles and more locations in the San Francisco Peninsula despite opposition from native groups and government companies. “Waymo may perchance per chance open up fared driverless passenger carrier operations in the desired areas of Los Angeles and the San Francisco Peninsula, effective at the present time,” the regulator wrote in its decision (PDF).
