TAMPA, Fla. — For the first time, Martin Luther King III and his family will wait on an NFL sport to honor his unhurried father, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to commemorate MLK Day when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Philadelphia Eagles on “Monday Evening Football.”
The King family — Martin III; his spouse, Arndrea Waters King; and their daughter, Yolanda Renee King — will benefit as honorary Buccaneers team captains and could well take part in the coin toss. The Buccaneers will honor Dr. King’s legacy in the center of the game with videoboard tributes and graphics, and the Bethune-Cookman University Live performance Chorale will homicide the songs “Prefer Each and every Utter and Hiss,” “I Can Gaze Clearly Now,” and “Method Over in Beulah Lan’.”
As share of untamed-card weekend coinciding with MLK Day, all six playoff video games gain featured “MLK” and “Be Admire” decals on participant helmets.
